Locus of Control Test
Discover whether you have an internal or external locus of control
About this test
The locus of control, a concept developed by Julian Rotter, describes the extent to which you believe you can influence the events in your life. An internal locus means you feel responsible for what happens to you, while an external locus attributes events to chance, fate, or others. This test measures three dimensions: your sense of personal agency, your perception of others' influence, and your belief in luck or fate. Understanding your locus of control can transform your relationship with motivation and responsibility.
Dimensions assessed
- ●Internal control- Belief that your actions, efforts, and decisions determine what happens to you.
- ●Power of others- Belief that powerful or influential people control what happens to you.
- ●Luck and fate- Belief that chance, luck, or fate determines the events of your life.
